Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data GetInRoute collects, why we collect it, how it is protected, and the choices you have. Last updated: 15 August 2026.

1. Who we are

GetInRoute ("we", "us") provides an employee transportation management platform — an app, an admin dashboard, and related services — that helps organizations plan and run employee commutes (pickups, drop-offs, cab allotments, live tracking, and trip records). This policy applies to the app, the website, and the admin dashboard.

We act as a service provider. The organization you work for (your employer) is typically a separate data controller for the employee information it manages in its own system. You should also review your employer's internal policies.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that is necessary to run your commute operations:

  • Account information — name, email address, employee ID, department, role (admin / driver / employee), and phone number.
  • Location addresses — home address, office location, and pickup / drop-off points you or your organization set for commute planning.
  • Live trip location — when a driver enables live sharing during an active trip, the driver's device location is shared with riders and admins so the cab can be tracked on a map until the trip ends.
  • Trip and schedule data — booked shifts, routes, cab allotments, trip timestamps, and trip history.
  • Communications — in-app chat messages and call metadata between riders and drivers, used to coordinate pickups.
  • Device and usage — app version, platform (Android / iPhone), push-notification tokens, and basic usage data needed to keep the service reliable.

3. How we use your information

  • Planning and operating commutes — assigning cabs, drivers, routes, and pickup / drop-off stops.
  • Showing live trip tracking so riders can see where their cab is and when it will arrive.
  • Sending notifications about arrivals, delays, and route changes.
  • Improving safety and enabling your organization to run its transport operations.
  • Customer support, troubleshooting, and meeting legal or regulatory obligations.

Location permissions. The app asks for location access only where it is needed — for example, when a driver is sharing a live trip or when an employee selects a pickup point on the map. Live location is shared only during an active trip and only to the people in that trip. You can revoke the app's location permission at any time in your device settings, though some features (like live tracking) may stop working.

4. How we share information

  • Your organization — the admin, transport coordinators, and assigned drivers see the information needed to run your commutes.
  • Transport vendors — service providers that operate cabs may receive route and rider information to fulfil your trips.
  • Service providers — hosting, maps, push notifications, and analytics vendors that help us run the service (always under contracts that require them to protect your data).
  • Legal authorities — only where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use rider or driver location data for advertising.

5. How long we keep data

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterwards (such as trip history that your organization may need for transport operations), or for the period required by applicable law — whichever is longer. When you or your organization asks us to delete an account, we remove or anonymise the personal data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.

6. How we protect data

We use technical and organisational measures including encrypted connections in transit, access controls restricted to people who need the data, and secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information to a reasonable and industry-standard level.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion or restriction of processing, where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. Where the data belongs to your employer's account, we may coordinate with your employer to complete your request.

8. Children's privacy

GetInRoute is a workplace service and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the law evolves. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or your organization.
